New Community Center Policy

Beginning Wednesday, March 1, the Bethel Park Community Center will begin implementing a new waiver policy requiring all Center guests using basketball courts, the walking track or exercise rooms to sign a waiver. Waiver signups begin March 1st.

Currently, all individuals who take Recreation classes sign a waiver, so the new policy is simply bringing all Center users into alignment, according to Community Center Director Emily Skoczlas. Those currently registered in Recreation programs will not need to sign a new waiver.

“Waivers will be available at the Community Center front desk for signature and should take less than a minute to sign,” said Skoczlas. “Please be sure to bring proof of ID. Parents or legal guardians of children under the age of 18 will need to sign a waiver on their child’s behalf.”

For those who have a Center membership, waivers will only need to be signed once each year (this also includes SilverSneakers’ participants). Resident membership fees follow:

  • Youth (13-17): $5
  • Adult (18-59): $10
  • Family: $25
  • Senior: $5

Day pass users and member guests will need to sign a waiver or have a parent/guardian sign one (depending on age) each time they use the Center facilities.

Center Day Passes are $1 and Resident Guest Passes are $4 for five passes.

“Regular visitors may want to purchase a membership to eliminate the need to sign a waiver for each visit,” said Skoczlas. “We’re trying to make this new process as easy as possible for everyone who enjoys our Center!”

The Municipality of Bethel Park has once again received the “Banner Community” designation for 2026 from the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM). “We are honored to once again be recognized as a Banner Community,” said Bethel Park Manager Kristen Denne. “This designation reflects the dedication of our elected officials, staff and community partners who work together to make Bethel Park an outstanding place to live, work and visit." The Banner Community designation honors municipalities and authorities that distinguish themselves as model communities through a variety of sustainable practices. These practices include professional development, intergovernmental cooperation, sound fiscal management and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders. “Congratulations on your designation this year and for your dedication to good government,” said ALOM Associate Director Crystal Sickles. Bethel Park has received the designation each year since 2014.
