The Bethel Park Community Center
The Bethel Park Community Center, home to Bethel Park Recreation classes and activities, is well known throughout the South Hills area for its convenient location and outstanding amenities. Part of the Park Avenue Streetscape, the facility is centrally located in Bethel Park with convenient access from South Park Rd. Each year, the 40,596 sq. ft. facility welcomes thousands of guests through its doors! The Center includes a 1/12 mile three-lane indoor walking track, gymnasium (bring your own basketball) and exercise/dance studio. It’s also available for social and professional functions with a large multi-purpose room providing seating for 245 that can be rented as a whole or as three smaller areas to accommodate most needs. A catering kitchen, stage and a classroom are also available for rent. The facility also offers a lounge complete with a kitchenette, chairs, TV, and game tables to relax or spend time with friends. The exterior amenities of the Community Center include ample lit parking areas, a playground, pavilion, athletic field, a 1/4 of a mile walking track, the beautifully landscaped Bethel Park Community Foundation Courtyard, and the new Splash Park, over an acre in size, open 7 days a week, featuring areas for children of all ages.
A membership or day pass is required for weekday evenings (after 3 p.m.) and weekend use of the walking track and gymnasium. Both can be purchased at the Center front desk. Before visiting, review our open gym hours and facility policies.

Facility Policies
Day Pass Policy
Effective May 1, 2023, the membership guest pass policy has changed to the following: New and renewing members will no longer be given guest passes when purchasing a membership.

Any member bringing a guest with them will have to purchase a day pass. The fee for Bethel Residents, with proof of residency, is $1. The non-resident fee is $10. Guests of members will need to sign a waiver before using the walking track or gym. Guests under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver for them.

A monthly open gym schedule will be posted showing available times for gym use. When open gym times are scheduled, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

- Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.

- Dunking or hanging on rims/nets is prohibited.

Both walking and running are permitted on the track with the inside two lanes for normal use and the outside lane for passing. The track is measured at 1/12 mile using the middle lane.

- Track directions change on alternate days as follows: M, W, F, and – run/walk counterclockwise; T, Th and Sat. – run/walk clockwise.
- The Municipality of Bethel Park does not assume liability or responsibility for any participant or private property.
Service Animals
Service animals are permitted on all Municipal property and in all facilities where members of the public are generally allowed.

Service animal means any dog individually trained to do work/perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability. Work/tasks performed by service animals include more than guide dogs for visually impaired people. Trained service animals are not pets and cannot be treated like pets. Other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained, are not service animals for the purposes of this definition. An employee or volunteer shall not ask about the nature or extent of a person’s disability but may ask to see paperwork verifying that the animal is indeed a service animal and not a pet or emotional support animal.

Senior Services
LifeSpan
LifeSpan is a non-profit agency providing support and services to residents of Allegheny County, age 60 and over. The organization operates out of the Bethel Park Community Center Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Services offered include:
- Daily lunch at 11:30 a.m. each day. Lunch is offered at a suggested donation of $1.50 and reservations must be made at least the day before by 11 a.m. Please call 412-831-7111 to reserve.
- Special Programs such as speakers & presentations, bingo, health screenings, card groups, trips, cooking classes, craft classes, special food events, AARP Driver Safety Programs, and much more! For more information on LifeSpan, call 412-831-7111.
Gold Card Club
Gold Card Club is a social and fellowship organization for Bethel Park residents aged 60 years and over, or a resident 50 years or older on disability retirement.

Monthly club meetings are held at the Bethel Park Community Center the second Thursday of every month (except July & August). Sign-in begins at 12:30 p.m. with a 1 p.m. meeting start. Annual member dues are $6 per person. Club meetings include a business meeting, entertainment, light refreshments, and several games of bingo.

SilverSneakers
SilverSneakers is the nation’s leading fitness program designed exclusively for older adults and is a benefit offered to members of many Medicare plans across the US.

If you are part of a Medicare health plan or are a group retiree, you may already have the SilverSneakers benefit! There is no cost for eligible adults to become members and participate. If you are interested in the program, stop by the Community Center where staff quickly check your eligibility!
Member benefits include access to the Center’s indoor walking track during all Center hours. Members can also take classes designed for older adults led by credentialed instructors specially trained for these programs. Classes are designed to increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, range of movement, and coordination. Many are chair-based, while other classes are more advanced and do not utilize chairs.
