DAY PASS POLICY

Effective May 1, 2023, the membership guest pass policy has changed to the following:

    New and renewing members will no longer be given guest passes when purchasing a membership. Any member bringing a guest with them will have to purchase a day pass. The fee for Bethel Residents, with proof of residency, is $1. The non-resident fee is $10. Guests of members will need to sign a waiver before using the walking track or gym. Guests under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver for them.

GYM OVERVIEW

A monthly open gym schedule will be posted showing available times for gym use. When open gym times are scheduled, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

OPEN GYM POLICY

Full-court play is on a first come, first serve basis. High volume may require courts to be shared to require more participants.

    Staff reserves the right to ask patrons to move to half-court play at any time. Basketball and “peppering” of the volleyball is permitted in the gymnasium. One sport does not take priority over the other. Activities outside of basketball and “peppering” of the volleyball that require the use of approved indoor balls or other equipment are only permitted during organized recreational programs or other approved events.

The gym is available to walk without a fee or membership Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. A Center membership, day pass, guest pass or SilverSneakers membership is necessary for track use Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. to close and all-day Saturday and Sunday.     No food, gum or beverages are permitted in the gym except for water in a closable bottle.

    Clean, non-marking athletic shoes must be worn on the gym floor.

    Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.

    Youth under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. CHILDREN UNDER 13 MUST BE UNDER DIRECT SUPERVISION OF AN ADULT IN ALL AREAS AT ALL TIMES.

    Dunking or hanging on rims/nets is prohibited.

    Kicking or throwing balls or other equipment toward the ceiling or track is prohibited.

    Organized teams may not practice during open gym.

    Lost and found items will be stored at the front desk for a short time and then disposed of.

TRACK OVERVIEW

The elevated walking track is available to use without a fee or any type of membership to residents and non-residents Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

    A Center membership, day pass, guest pass, or SilverSneakers membership is necessary for track use Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. – close and all operating hours Saturday and Sunday. Both walking and running are permitted on the track with the inside two lanes for normal use and the outside lane for passing. The track is measured at 1/12 mile using the middle lane.

TRACK RULES

Food and drink are not permitted on the track except for water in a closable bottles.

    Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times.

    Musical devices are only allowed when used with headphones/earbuds.

    Dropping or shooting items from the walking track is prohibited.

    Slower traffic uses the inside lane; passing should occur in the outside lane.

    Track directions change on alternate days as follows: M, W, F, and – run/walk counterclockwise; T, Th and Sat. – run/walk clockwise.

    The Municipality of Bethel Park does not assume liability or responsibility for any participant or private property.

SERVICE ANIMALS

Service animals are permitted on all Municipal property and in all facilities where members of the public are generally allowed.

    Service animal means any dog individually trained to do work/perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability. Work/tasks performed by service animals include more than guide dogs for visually impaired people. Trained service animals are not pets and cannot be treated like pets. Other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained, are not service animals for the purposes of this definition. An employee or volunteer shall not ask about the nature or extent of a person’s disability but may ask to see paperwork verifying that the animal is indeed a service animal and not a pet or emotional support animal.
