Bethel Park has its own branch of the Montour Trail. The historic tracks of the Montour Railroad have been replaced with a scenic recreation trail that is part of the Great Allegheny Passage, which runs all the way to Washington D.C. Bethel Park’s section also includes the J.R. Taylor Memorial Bridge enabling pedestrians to safely cross over Clifton Rd. without coming into contact with street traffic.
Portions of the 2,013-acre South Park, the largest recreational area in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, are located within the borders of Bethel Park. South Park is operated and maintained by Allegheny County and is home to countless facilities and recreational activities. Some Park highlights include a wave pool, golf course, ice skating rink, dek hockey rink, BMX track, and multiple playgrounds and pavilions. A game preserve and the historic Oliver Miller Homestead both reside within the Park’s grounds.
Bethel Park’s major shopping district is anchored by South Hills Village Mall, which is jointly located in Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair. Bethel Park is also home to a vast array of locally owned businesses to meet all of your dining, recreational and retail needs.
Bethel Park is also conveniently located along the T transit line for easy access to downtown Pittsburgh. There are two Port Authority rail lines that service the South Hills with both running through Bethel Park.
