M&M Photography, started in 1982 by Mark and Marianne Moulden, offers high-quality, affordable photography serving the South Hills of Pittsburgh and beyond from their Bethel Park studio.

Located at 4934 Library Road, the studio is staffed with both full and part-time employees and can quickly accommodate most client photo requests. The site features two camera rooms and a beautiful outdoor space complete with stone steps, a railed fence, greenery, and seasonal flowers enabling M&M’s photographers to take both indoor and outdoor photos without clients having to travel if they’d prefer to be at one location.

M&M Photography is also one of the few remaining print-based studios in the area.

BACKGROUND

With Mark’s father being a photographer and having his own studio (Norman’s Studio), Mark grew up in the business. Marianne’s route into the industry came through her position of managing the senior section of the yearbook for Upper St. Clair High School. Mark’s father was the high school photographer at the time and after working with Marianne, he asked if she’d like to work at his studio. There, she met Mark.

“We worked together at his dad’s business, and after high school, he decided he wanted to do his own thing,” said Marianne. “Mark’s first studio was located in Sewickley. Not wanting to continue to pay rent and since we were both from the South Hills, we were excited to find our current location on Rt. 88 for sale. We moved in on our first wedding anniversary and have been here for over 40 years!”

For a while, the two lived and worked at their studio. “Later, we were blessed that the business grew to where we were able to move out and purchase a home in Bethel Park where we raised our three daughters,” said Marianne.

Now, two of their three daughters also work at the studio.

“Our oldest daughter, Melissa, is a talented photographer and graphic designer, and our youngest, Megan, has taken over my role doing things such as sales, organizational tasks, etc.” added Marianne. “Our middle daughter, Michelle, lives out of state. We’re super blessed; the girls are fabulous hard workers, and they understand what it takes to run a small business. Another person vital to our business is one of our lead photographers, Sarah; she does an amazing job!”

Marianne’s 88-year-old mother Betty also helps at the studio working in production.

“She was Mark’s first employee!,” said Marianne. “Helping us keeps her going. She always tells us to get more work so she can stay busy!”

SERVICES

M&M Photography handles all types of photography options including school photos, sports, families, and high school seniors.

Their school photography clients include districts such as Bethel Park, South Park, Upper St. Clair and a variety of private schools throughout Western Pennsylvania.

While they haven’t taken on wedding clients since 2000 to allow for free time with their family, they look back at those years fondly.

“Mark started taking wedding photos at age 15 and had to hitch a ride with the groomsmen back then!” said Marianne. “We used to do a lot of weddings, and those brides and grooms are still our customers now bringing their children to our studio. We’re so happy to have them coming back to us!”

Serve Your Community!
By Kim Weightman May 23, 2025
Bethel Park will be holding its annual Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 26 to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The program will feature an 8:50 a.m. Morning Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the Municipal Building (5100 W. Library Ave.) followed by a parade stepping off at 10 a.m. from the site and ending at Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery for a service there. Refreshments will also be available for guests prior to the Morning Ceremony in Council Chambers (5100 W. Library Ave.) at 8:15 a.m. “This program has become an esteemed tradition for our community,” said Bethel Park Council President John Oakes. “I’d like to thank everyone who has planned this very special event and to thank Dick Jewell who will be this year’s speaker.” Jewell who said he’s “honored to have this opportunity,” is a longtime Bethel Park resident who received the U.S. Army Meritorious Service Medal for doing an outstanding job in the legal work he conducted for the various commanders at the Third Cav. Since moving to Bethel Park in 1956 as a child, he has attended every Memorial Day Parade except for two when he was serving in the Army. Jewell’s speech will focus on the true meaning of Memorial Day and include many military references including General MacArthur’s “Duty, Honor and Country” speech that he made at West Point in 1962. “This program is quite unique in that it involves so many groups coming together to remember those who’ve paid the ultimate price for our freedom,” said Bethel Park Manager Kristen Denne. The parade route will begin at the Municipal Building, head left onto Highland Ave., left on Bethel Church Rd., and end at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Any changes to the Memorial Day program due to inclement weather will be announced on Memorial Day by 7 a.m. on all Bethel Park social media outlets and website ( www.bethelparkpa.gov ) .
