Bethel Park and FAM

Did you know….

Anyone with SNAP/EBT benefits can use them towards qualified Farmers’ Market items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, meat and chicken, cheese, milk, honeys, syrups, and more! As in years past, Bethel Park Farmers’ Market is pleased to be partnering with the FAM Program to increase your buying power! Generously sponsored by St. Clair Hospital, the FAM Program allows the Bethel Park Farmers’ Market to provide a match for each SNAP dollar spent at the Market.  The FAM Program match also extends to include the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Senior Vouchers (these vouchers are slated to become available on June 25th)

This program is easy to use! Simply shop for your favorite eligible Farmers’ Market items, let the vendor know that you’re a SNAP Program participant and you’ll be handed a receipt for your purchases. After you’re done with all your shopping with as many vendors as you like, bring your receipts to the Farmers’ Market tent to process your transaction.

There, your receipts will be totaled, and your EBT card will be charged for HALF your total amount due (for example, if your purchases total $50, your EBT card will be charged $25).  The FAM Program will match the remaining balance, reimbursing the vendors at full rate! Our Market staff and volunteers will then go and retrieve your purchases for you.

To make this even easier, eligible vendors will be identified with a “FAM Program Eligible” sign at their booth. Our goal is for the Market to be a destination for all residents and to be as inclusive as possible!

The market runs each Tuesday, 3:00pm-7:00pm through September 24th in the parking lot on Corrigan Drive.
