Program Begins Oct. 16

“We look forward to spreading the word about all our free programs and services for anyone impacted by cancer, but especially our Living Life Post Cancer Treatment program starting Oct. 16th at the Bethel Park Public Library,” said Cancer Bridges Executive Director Stephanie Ciranni.

Cancer Bridges,  a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit offering free support to individuals and families impacted by cancer, is bringing its Living Life Post Cancer Treatment®  (LLPCT) program directly into the community here in Bethel Park making healing more accessible, personal, and empowering.

What Is LLPCT?

LLPCT is a free, nine-session survivorship program designed for adults who have completed cancer treatment within the past two years. It helps participants adjust to life after treatment through expert-led sessions, gentle movement and meaningful connection.

Each session includes:

  • A focused topic (nutrition, emotional wellness, medical follow-up, and more)
  • 30 minutes of low-impact exercise
  • Nutritious snacks and supportive conversation

Participants receive a manual, goal-setting tools, and access to certified cancer exercise specialists. The final session reconnects the group one month later to reflect and recharge.

Proven Impact

LLPCT is backed by research and real-world results:

  • Participants walk 1,000+ more steps daily by the end
  • Physical stamina improves measurably
  • Emotional and social well-being increases
  • Confidence in making healthy life changes grows

These outcomes were even presented at the 2020 ASCO Annual Meeting, one of the world’s leading cancer conferences.

Local Support, Lifelong Connection

Cancer Bridges has supported over 18,000 individuals across Western Pennsylvania through free programs like LLPCT. With nearly 200 monthly offerings including counseling, support groups, wellness activities, and youth programs, Cancer Bridges ensures no one faces cancer alone.

The Bethel Park Library has been a proud host site since 2022, helping bring this vital program into the heart of the community.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to offer LLPCT at the Bethel Park Library, who recognize the importance of offering this program to the community,” said Ciranni.
