Recognizing Our Exceptional Public Works Team

Kim Weightman • February 27, 2025

Following an exceptionally challenging winter, we are proud to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our Public Works Team for having one for the best salt crews in the South Hills!

This winter, our dedicated team conducted 26 road-clearing operations—more than double the number over the past two years—ensuring that our residents could travel safely despite severe weather conditions. Our crew effectively managed 15 snow routes, covering approximately 138 miles of municipal and state roads, and utilized over 4,000 tons of salt.

“We have a great team that takes tremendous pride in the job they do,” said Public Works Director Susan Dolinar who’s been with the Municipality for 44 years and with the Public Works Department since the early 90s. The department also boasts excellent employee retention, with the majority of our 24 Public Works employees having over a decade of service.

As we transition to spring, our team is preparing for park maintenance, road work, and storm basin repairs.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our hardworking crew for their unwavering dedication and exceptional service to the Bethel Park Community.
