Mayor Jack Allen is proud to launch an initiative to honor the heart of our community - YOU.

 

The Citizen of the Year award will recognize an outstanding individual (age 18+) who has lived in Bethel Park for at least one year and has: ✅ Shown exceptional community leadership ✅ Made a meaningful impact on Bethel Park ✅ Demonstrated generosity and selflessness through their actions.

 

“This is a natural offshoot for me,” said Mayor Allen. “I’ve been regularly recognizing our citizens for their achievements since becoming mayor, and it brings me and Council great joy to celebrate the incredible contributions of our residents.”

 

📝 Nominate someone who inspires you! Send nominations to Janet Davin and include nominee name, address, email, & phone number; nominee attributes and qualifications and why you feel he or she should be honored for the award; and include your name and phone number. You can email the information to jdavin@bethelparkpa.gov or print it and drop it off to her or send via US Mail to the Bethel Park Municipal Building (5100 W. Library Ave., Bethel Park, PA).

Road Work Update Starting Monday, Nov. 3 for approximately two weeks , Allegheny County will be paving Brightwood Rd. from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic. However, you may want to seek an alternate route if possible. The project start may be delayed until Tuesday depending on the weather. Any questions should be directed to Allegheny County. 🧡 HELP US FEED LOCAL FAMILIES 🧡 As the government shutdown continues, many Bethel Park families are facing uncertainty. That’s why Bethel Park Municipal Council and Mayor are launching a Community Food Drive in partnership with SHIM and the Blackhawk Family Relief Fund - to support our neighbors in need. We’d also like to thank South Hills Movers and Shop ‘N Save for their support. Starting Wednesday, Oct. 29 , you can drop off non-perishable food items during regular business hours at: Bethel Park Police Station Bethel Park Community Center Reginald’s Coffee Jugo-Slav Club Monetary donations are also welcome! Checks can be made out to: Blackhawk Family Relief Fund and sent to 5799 Glen Ora Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102. You can also donate via Venmo - @blackhawkfamilyrelieffund. All monetary donations will go to SHIM. 🍽️ Need food assistance? SHIM will distribute food at its Bethel Park location (5301 Park Ave.): 🗓️ Thursday, Nov. 6 from 10 AM–1 PM & 3–6 PM 🚗 Drive-through pickup: Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 AM–12 PM 📞 If you can’t make these times, call 412-854-9120 to make arrangements.
