BPTV VOLUNTEER SUCCESS STORIES
Bethel Park Public Access Television could not have and maintain the success that it has without the work of a dedicated crew of volunteers. It is our sincere hope that those volunteers also benefit from their time with us and the result prove they have. Here are just a few examples of past and current volunteers whose career was directlt impacted by their time volunteering at BPTV
STEVEN FISHER
Steven Fisher serves as an active volunteer for Bethel Park Public Access Television (BPTV) for over 8 years. Starting right out of high school, Steven became acquainted with many of the network's producers and directors volunteering on a variety of programming behind the cameras. This included many award-winning shows from Pittsburgh Sportsline, Around Town, special on-location broadcasts, and the Streator Summer Concert Series to name a few. Upon graduating from Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and Point Park University in 2019 and 2021 respectively in accounting, and 2024 with an MBA in Data Analytics, he now works full-time in the Greater Pittsburgh Area as an accountant. He works for Louis Plung & Company as a Tax Accountant and serves on the Board of Directors at Evolve Coaching, a non-profit catered towards building educational success for other autistic individuals like himself. With all the experience he builds within the bigger community of Pittsburgh, he owes all his success to the people of BPTV and its many volunteers to create a network that shares incredible stories of growth and positivity.

ADAM GRANT
I started my career in film and television at Bethel Park Public Access in 2005. I was in college at the time and wanted substantial experience to better my craft. Dave Cable offered the opportunity to get hands on training with professional grade equipment and editing software. BPTV allowed me to learn in a controlled environment that was comfortable and challenging at the same time. This would give me the foundation and confidence I would need to further my journey.
Currently, I am a union member in IATSE 489 who specializes as a Set Lighting Technician and as a Best Boy. For anyone interested in a career in film and television this is a great resource and investment.
JAMES SCHMEICHEL
