Bethel Park Recycling Reminder – Sustainability Tip!

Happy Earth Month! In light of the upcoming Earth Day and Arbor Day, now is a great time to reflect on our personal impact on Planet Earth and how we can collectively keep this community green! One great way is to reduce our carbon footprint through proper recycling!

Here is a reminder of what can be recycled:

ALWAYS RECYCLE:

  • CLEAN flattened cardboard and paperboard
  • EMPTY food and beverage cans
  • NON-SHREDDED paper and newspapers
  • EMPTY plastic bottles, jars, jugs, and tubs

DO NOT INCLUDE IN STREET RECYCLING:

  • NO Food waste (compost instead!)
  • NO plastic bags or film
  • NO foam cups and containers
  • NO glass bottles and containers*

When recycling, please place these items LOOSE in the recycling bin – no plastic bags will be accepted. Please note that no food debris of any kind will be accepted such as leftover food within a container and stained grease on a pizza box.

Don’t have a recycling bin?

Recycling crates can be picked up at the Municipal Building for $10 each here: Shop – Bethel Park. If you prefer to use your own bin, the Municipality provides ‘recycling’ stickers that can be used to mark bins for Waste Management!

*Clean glass bottles and containers can be dropped off at the blue glass-recycling dumpster in the Village Square Mall (5000 Oxford Drive) or at Michael Brother’s Recycling (901 Horning Road) during business hours!
